Loki Loki Gender: Male
Age: adult
Loc: Florida
Status: Available, URGENT, CRITICAL
Loki was born 1/26/08. Neutered. Likes being outside, will come inside. Likes people. Likes other dogs. Not sure about very young toddlers. Takes a little time to warm up to strangers. Likes walking on a leash. But tries to lead. Owners must move soon and they haven't been able to find a home that will allow them to bring Loki. They would rather give Loki a second chance to a forever home, instead of ending up in a shelter.
This is all that I have on Loki. Trying to get more information from his owner. I have met him and he is a sweet boy. Contact Sara at saramovahedi78@gmail.com

Midnight Midnight Gender: Female
Age: adult
Loc: Florida
Status: Available, URGENT, CRITICAL
FL - My name is Midnight, and I am an 8 year old female wolfdog! My owner is going through some pretty tough times and some nice rescue friends are trying to find another home for me!! I want to tell you a little about myself so you can get to know me!!
My friends say I'm kind of shy at first, but when I get to know you, I'm very loving and sweet! I get along well with male dogs, *most* females dogs, and I'm nice to inside cats! I have lived my entire life as an indoor dog, so my new family won't be able to leave me outside. I'm also a pretty good escape artist! I can easily jump over a normal 6 ft fence, so I will need lean ins, and I also love to dig, so dig guards are a must as well!

As much as I like everyone, kids seem to scare me for some reason... I think it's best if I live in a home without them just to be safe. I'm currently on grain-free kibble, but raw is my favorite food! I don't mind if my mom comes up to me while I'm eating, but I don't know how I would feel about strangers or other dogs. Sometimes, if I'm really thirsty, I get a mad when other dogs come near my water dish, my mom says they call that resource guarding. One of my favorite things to do is go for walks! I love getting to stretch my long legs and I'm really good on a leash too!

I am trained to sleep in a crate, and it's also where I eat my meals! And even though I'm potty trained, if no one picks up on my signals and lets me out, I will have accidents in the house. I am up to date on all of my shots, I'm perfectly healthy, spayed and heartworm negative! My mom loves me very much, but she is in a bad situation and because of that, I need to find a new home as soon as possible...but I won't go to just anyone.

Please have a fenced yard, in a home you own, not rent. Please have a vet reference, and be able to provide personal and work references upon request. Please only inquire about me if you are serious about adopting me, and be ready to go through the adoption process with the rescue! Wolfdog experience is preferred but not required, and experience with northern breeds such as huskies and malamutes will certainly help.

I'm waiting patiently for you, are you my family??

Bear Bear Gender: Male
Age: adult
Loc: Kentucky
Status: Available
Bear needs a new home this is what owner has to say ~
He came from a zoo in WV. They were just practically handing them out. I didn't want him to be abused so took him ~ He's three years old. He does walk on a leash but we have to use a choke collar because he is very strong. He's good with people. But since his human mom has gotten pregnant he has gotten very protective. I have two other dogs and he does well with them and my son had two cats. There hasn't been any issues. He is a little aggressive where human food is concerned. But he sits, shakes paws, lays down. It's breaks my heart to give him up. But he just needs more space.******
Bear could possibly be a low but I see mostly Shepherd/Mal. I was hesitant to post the CAT picture as just because he is good with this cat DOESN'T mean he will be good with others. I personally would never trust a wolfdog or northern breed with any cat unless the interaction was supervised. I am the point of contact so anyone interested in adopting Bear please email me at Wolfdogangels@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE, there will be an adoption Application process, Including References that will be checked and a Home Check. Although Bear is an inside/outside animal SECURE CONTAINMENT will still be mandatory!

Mia and Zeus Mia and Zeus Gender: Male, Female
Age: adult
Loc: Florida
Status: Available, URGENT
FL - Zeus and Mia. She is the blonde one with a floppy ear. They are both around 5 years old. Mia would easily adjust to be an inside dog but Zeus will need additional patience to adjust. Neither can be around cats and small animals and they have never been around children. Mia is spayed and needs a special low protein diet because of her kidneys. Mia is a love bug and thrives on attention. Zeus has not been neutered. He is very shy of people. It takes him a very long time to trust but he is a great big beautiful boy. He needs someone who will be super patient with him and give him lots of love and time to adjust. Mia on the other hand loves everyone especially if you have a treat for her. They are both up to date on their vaccines and are micro chipped. They have been on Trifexsis for flea and heartworm control until this month. Their owner recently passed away and until six months ago had lived in only one spot. So in the last 6 months they have had the upheaval of a move and the loss of their only owner. Their neighbor is the only one left that Zeus trusts and will allow to get really close to but she doesn’t don’t have room or she would keep them. They are not a bonded pair but are very close. Zeus needs Mia and if they could stay together at least till he can adjust to another change in his life that would be great. Their medical records and microchip information are available. Tequila Tequila Gender: Male
Age: adult
Loc: Colorado
Status: Available, URGENT, CRITICAL
Very Urgent! Deadline Oct. 1 - Fountain, CO - this pretty carmel-and-white Husky mix is named Tequila. She is turning 10 in October and needs a home as soon as possible. Her owner is willing to help with transport to get her to a good home. Tequila is about 95 lbs and is current on her Rabies. She likes to be the only dog and although she lives with two other dogs presently she needs some socializing with new dogs, so not a good dog-park candidate. She pulls a bit on leash and is well behaved indoors, but does not like to be left home alone for long periods of time. Tequila is not an escape artist and hasn't tried to dig or climb but we always recommend at least a 5-6' fence. She will come when called, knows Sit, Shake, Lie Down. She is fine with children and social with adults. Tequila does not like to be kenneled and may hurt herself if crated. She needs some boundaries and training as she will counter surf when not being watched. She's really playful and in good shape for her age. This is son's dog and Mom has been taking care but is now getting transferred with the military and Tequila needs a new home by Oct 1. Time is running out for this sweet girl. She would be best with a handler that understands northern breeds and can give her some daily exercise, but since she is 10 she is not high maintenance -just likes to have someone around for company. A person that works from home or is retired would be perfect for this girl. Please contact Robin at CalmCompanions@hotmail.com Time is of the essence!

Legend Legend Gender: Male
Age: Adult
Loc: Nevada
Status: Available, URGENT
URGENT! Las Vegas, NV - Legend cannot be kept by his owner any more so he only has about 3 weeks before he winds up at the shelter. Legend is a Malamute/Husky mix and maybe some Border Collie with thosebeautiful markings. He's 4 1/2 years old, neutered, vaccinations, and weighs about 90 lbs. Legend is not very trustful of other dogs or men, and seems to be partial to female owners that are calm and assertive. He needs someone that has experiences with northern breeds and will take the time to give him some training and daily exercise. He's not very social with other dogs so will need training and socialization in this area. He's not good with cats or small dogs although he does live with a Chihuahua (we will not adopt to those with small animals). Legend also needs some leash training as he does pull, but good daily exercise and an experienced handler can fix this easily. He is not a jumper or climber, but does need at least 6 or 7' fencing. He has no food aggression with people but is protective with other dogs. Legend likes to ride in the car. He is a big family/pack dog and loves to cuddle and just hang with you. He would be best in a home that is calm and disciplined, with no kids, nor lots of activity or visitors. His owner does not know how to handle his dominance and will bring him to the pound if we do not find a suitable home for Legend. Please help this dog. If you are interested in Legend, please contact ouor Animal Coordinator, Robin at CalmCompanions@hotmail.com

Multiple dogs in urgent need of homes Multiple dogs in urgent need of homes Gender: Male, Female
Age: adults
Loc: Connecticut
Status: Available, URGENT, CRITICAL
LOCATION: Southeast Colorado
12 feral dogs - mostly Malamute mixes
CONTACT: Susan at Weidel@uwyo.edu and Les at Les_hickey@xtoenergy.com
These dogs are feral, loose on property that is not fenced. Most have porcupine quills in faces, swollen, no vet care but seem to be in good health otherwise. They are shy but not aggressive. There is a shed on property where a few dogs at a time can be herded and kept a few hours until pick up. Any help with capture is welcome and greatly needed as the property/dog owners are incapable of helping due to health issues. It looks like two females are in "cages." Osine may be pregnant. Much help is needed! more pics to come ...

Max Max Gender: Male
Age: adult
Loc: Washington
Status: Available
Everette, WA - Max is a beautiful Husky/Malamute mix who will be 2 years old in February and is currently in foster. He was surrendered into Rescue, because he is a bit of an escape artist and his owners were not able to keep him contained on their property. During one of his escapades he got injured and is now almost blind in one eye. This does not seem to bother him at all, and he is still very handsome. Only when you look close can you see a bit of cloudiness in his eye. Max is a little shy at first, but becomes a very sweet playful boy with a lot of Husky-energy once he gets to know you. He needs a house with a big yard and secure 6-foot fencing. Max is very good with other dogs and would do best with a buddy. He has been living with cats in his foster home and has shown no interest in them, but has made fast friends with his doggie-housemates. Max would do best with a woman, since he is scared of men. He is very smart and sensitive, so he could probably learn to get along with a man who is calm and very patient, but it will take time. Due to his fear of men, he would not be good in dog parks. Max is looking for a home where he can feel safe and loved. As long as he gets enough exercise and feels no need to escape, he will be a wonderful and fun family member. Max has not been exposed to small children during his time in foster. Max is neutered and all his shots are up-to-date. Please contact Kim for an Adoption Application at KimKahl@dukewarner.com. Denali and Gypsy Denali and Gypsy Gender: Male, Female
Age: adult
Loc: Nevada
Status: Available
Yerrington, NV - two beautiful young Malamute/wolfdogs, male -Denali, and female - Gypsy, have been rescued from the Olympic Animal Sanctuary in Washington. The sanctuary could no longer care for their 160 dogs so they were dispersed to various Rescues. All the dogs had all been kept in poor conditions and tiny pens or crates and not socialized much. These two are extremely shy. They had lived in a tiny kennel together for 3 years, with no access to walks, socialization or the outside. We think they may be siblings as they look very much alike. The male is the larger of the two. Even though they were extremely shy when they arrived they are finally starting venturing out into their yard and playing now. Both Denali and Gypsy are still extremely "wolfy" and will not come to be petted or leashed and it's been almost a year. These two beauties are very bonded and stick together like glue. They have been allowed into the larger yard with a few other dogs and have shown no aggression - just curiosity. They have dug a den and like to hide in there. Keep watching our site for new photos and updates. Both of these beauties will see the vet for examination, and soon Denali will be neutered and Gypsy spayed. They are available for adoption to a wolf sanctuary that can give them a forever and happy home. Contact Pamela Jo at PamelaJoWolflady2@sbcglobal.net for more information.

Basco Basco Gender: Male
Age: adult
Loc: Florida
Status: Available, Unknown
He’s a 7yom labeled WD (may be LC?) – but the hair photo looks coarser than northern breeds generally are. Living with two dogs a female aussie & a male schipperke (grouchy) – non-aggressive but supposedly doesn’t get on with males(?) not sure about that since he’s living with a small male dog (apparently that was reported by a potential adopter who had a male greyhound that must not have liked Basco) – He was thin but has gained weight in the last month – was chained for 4 years in the garage – wormy – fleas – emaciated – the usual – went through divorce & surrendered - great with people – loves kids – has separation anxiety / counter surfer / garbage cans – easy keeper will stay close & not wander off even without a fence. Storm Storm Gender: Female
Age: adult
Loc: New Jersey
Status: Available
Storm is a beautiful and energetic female husky. She is originally from a horrendous hoarding situation in Kentucky, where more than half of the dogs found penned together starved to death. Due to there tragic upbringing, she is shy at first but bonds and warms up quickly . Storm also has a very high prey drive and would not be good with small dogs or cats. She does get along with other dogs her size that can withstand her version of play.
Storm loves to go for walks and play outside, and does very well inside the house. She usually lays down and quietly relaxes. She knows basic commands such as sit and is learning how to walk on a leash without pulling. She would do best with an active owner willing to walk or run her everyday to accommodate for her high energy needs.

If you are interested in Storm, please read our adoption requirements, submit an application, or contact us by calling (732) 534-5745. However, before you complete the adoption application, read the adoption requirements first at http://howlingwoods.org/adoption_requirements.html.

Owen Owen Gender: Male
Age: adult
Loc: New Jersey
Status: Available
Owen is a stunning and very tall german shepherd/wolf mix recently arrived to Howling Woods. He is approximately a year and a half old. Owen is timid around strangers and large groups of people, but warms up after some treats. He is very laid back and walks very well on a leash. He knows a few tricks such as sit, lay down, and paw. Owen would do fine in a home with a companion dog and playmate for him, or on his own. He is good inside and in the car, you just need a car large enough that can fit him!
Owen is food aggressive with other dogs and must be fed seperately. Owen is part wolf and not legal to have as a pet in many States.
If you are interested in Owen, please read our adoption requirements, submit an application, or contact us by calling (732) 534-5745. However, before you complete the adoption application, read the adoption requirements first at http://howlingwoods.org/adoption_requirements.html. Owen can go to a home where he is an only dog.

Max Max Gender: Male
Age: adult
Loc: Florida
Status: Available
Max is in a North Florida rescue at this time. He was found stray in a neighboring county. It took 2 weeks of feeding treats to finally get a hand on his rusty tight choke collar he had on. He appeared to be a stray for a long time. He is extremely skittish but gentle at the same time. He is fearful of most humans but seems to do well with women. He absolutely loves kids, and other animals. Not sure about cats. He gets along with all non-aggressive breeds. He has never shown any aggression whatsoever. He will give the occasional huff when he sees his food coming as to say “hurry up, can’t you see I'm hungry”! He would do best where he has canine/wolfdog friends like him. Max will only be placed with someone with wolfdog experience. Secure containment is required; if he gets loose he will travel. Just a fenced yard won’t do. He will need a secure kennel while not supervised. His current kennel has a concrete floor and steel roof with 9 gauge wire walls. He may be ok inside home but he needs lots of time to adjust and bond and build trust. Please contact Berry Norris at berrynorris@att.net or Debbie at dak0717@hotmail.com

Riley Riley Gender: Male
Age: 5 years old
Loc: Wisconsin
Status: Available
Riley is looking for his forever home. He is a beautiful mal/husky mix. He is a bit shy at first with new people, but bring-on the treats and you've made a great friend.
This boy does well on leash and would be a great companion to take for long country walks.
He is an active & playful guy. He is happiest when he can run, roughhouse and chase another dog around the yard. With proper introduction Riley is good with bigger dogs (both male & female) that like to roughhouse. So if you have a big girl who loves to play hard and needs a companion…Riley’s your man!! He doesn’t realize how big & strong he is so he would probably not be good for a smaller dog or small children.
He is 85-90 lb., neutered & current on vaccinations. 5 years old DOB 12/16/2009
He has never jumped the yard fence - been in both 5' & 6' He will pull on his inside kennel containment so welded wire would be best, and he will dig.
Riley comes in the house for supervised visits but he has a tendency to mark when you are not paying attention. If his new family had time to work with him he may get over that once he has settled in.
Riley is also perfectly happy being an outside dog. If you can offer this bundle of love and fur a new home please contact Jayne at wolfdogrescue@thegreywolf.org
We will send you an adoption application. A fenced yard is a requirement. A home visit will be arranged at your convenience before adoption.

Lily and Kali Lily and Kali Gender: Female
Age: 3-1/2 years
Loc: California
Status: Available, CRITICAL
Lily and Kali are two gorgeous young German Shepherd/Huskies that need new homes. We will separate them if needed as we feel they will blossom beautifully if each are placed in homes with a male canine companion. They are sisters, aged 3 1/2 and weiging 65 and 75 lbs. They are current on vaccinations and will be spayed by the end of January. They are both great with male dogs, ok with female dogs as long as the female is submissive. They really haven't been around children or cats so we will not adopt them into homes with cats, kids or little dogs. They are both a bit predatorial and love to run the property and hunt. They are currently enjoying invisible fencing on 2 acres, but owner has two Akita's and the four do not get along. Owner is afraid that the female Akita will kill these girls. Lily and Kali love to have their bellies rubbed, are very affectionate, and can be mischievous if not supervised ... they like chewing up toys and anything with stuffing (which can be dangerous). A home that can offer them good daily exercise, lots of companionship and some training. Transportation to their new homes will be available. Please contact Pamela Jo if you are interested in adopting either Lily or Kali or both! They need homes fast as they may be in danger of fighting with the Akita. Spirit Gender: Male
Age: 1 year
Loc: Colorado
Status: Available

CO - Immediate placement is needed. Spirit is a one-year old, intact male who has been bounced around multiple times. Spirit was either bred or brokered through Howling Hills Wolf Ranch; in Tehachapi, CA It appears that Spirit attacked his current caretaker. The wounds were not severe, but definitely enough of a concern that Spirit needs to find sanctuary somewhere that can accommodate his special needs. This pup was bounced through 3-4 homes before he ended up in CO. In the homes he had, there was no socialization. In fact, it seems that this pup was neglected and abused for the first 4-5 months of his life. Contact Mike Lehane at mplehane@ca.rr.com
